Concession secured for Bileća 1 solar and battery storage
Solar Agroland has secured a 50-year concession for the Bileća 1 solar and battery storage project in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Republic of Srpska. The company said the final layout is still subject to planning decisions and residents’ objections.
Local opposition centres on potential impacts on grazing land and livestock farming. Residents say the development could restrict access to areas used for grazing.
Regulatory plan under preparation and potential site adjustments
The detailed regulatory plan is still being prepared, according to local reporting. The process leaves scope to relocate facilities within the concession area while preserving access roads.
Bileća Mayor Miodrag Parezanin said the municipality would seek changes that address local concerns while allowing the investment to proceed. Officials have also raised the possibility of retaining grazing areas around the panels.
Municipal support from Energy and Mining Ministry, with conditions
The Energy and Mining Ministry said the municipality supported the project and approved preparation of planning documents. It added that this support came with conditions still to be resolved.
Residents can submit objections before the final plan is adopted, with the regulatory process continuing toward final approval.
Ownership structure behind Solar Agroland
Solar Agroland is owned by Pinetree Energy, which was established by Switzerland-based Pinetree. The concession provides a long-term development framework, while land-use arrangements remain an immediate hurdle.
