In May 2026, the average electricity bill for households in Montenegro was €29.15. This represented an 8.3% decrease compared with the previous month, when the average bill was €31.78. The change was linked to lower monthly consumption across the household sector.
Municipal bill levels across Montenegro
Municipal data show the lowest average household bill in Rožaje, at around €23.5. The highest average was recorded in Kotor, at approximately €34.5. The municipal differences were associated with variations in consumption patterns and household demand.
Distribution of households by billing category
The majority of consumers were concentrated in lower billing categories. About 66.63% of households received bills below €30, while 18.41% paid between €30 and €50. Another 12.07% of customers were billed between €50 and €100, and only 2.89% faced monthly bills above €100.
EPCG discount recipients and household consumption
EPCG reported that 161,650 regularly paying customers received a discount. This figure corresponds to approximately 39.05% of total consumers in Montenegro. The utility also stated that total household electricity consumption in May 2026 reached 105.4 million kWh.
Total household consumption was reported as 5.93% higher year-on-year, while also 6.37% lower than in the previous month.
