Faria Renewables has completed the purchase of a 23.1 MW wind power facility in Boeotia, Greece, from EDP Renewables. The acquisition adds an operating renewable asset to the Greek developer’s portfolio.

The deal is the first of two wind projects included in an agreement announced earlier this year. The second project, with a capacity of 35 MW, is scheduled to begin operation in 2027. Combined, the two wind farms represent roughly 58 MW of capacity and have an estimated value of about €120 million.

Alpha Bank financed the first transaction. The purchase price for the 23.1 MW project was not disclosed.

Wind farm operation and power sales

The facility entered trial operation in July. It comprises four Nordex N149 turbines. Annual electricity production is expected to reach around 75 GWh.

Metlen has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement covering the project’s output. It will also manage the wind farm’s participation in the wholesale electricity market. Faria’s renewable development portfolio in Greece exceeds 2 GW across wind, solar and battery storage projects.
