Bulgaria, Production of electricity in the period between 1 January and 20 November 2022 has increased by 8.1 %

According to the data published by Bulgarian electricity transmission system operator ESO, production of electricity in Bulgaria in the period between 1 January and 20 November 2022 has increased by 8.1 % compared to 2021 and reached 44.48 TWh.

On the other hand, Bulgaria’s electricity consumption decreased in the same period, by 1.68 % reaching a total of 33.31 TWh. Surplus electricity amounted to 11.18 TWh so far in 2022, 53.7 % more than in the same period in 2021. Baseload power plants (coal, nuclear) produced a total of 37.63 TWh of electricity in 2022, which is 11.6 % more than in 2021.
