Bosnia and Herzegovina: EPBiH advances plans for independent electricity distribution operator

Supported byClarion Energy

As part of preparations to separate electricity distribution activities and establish an independent distribution system operator, representatives of power utility EPBiH met with consultants from PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The meeting, along with the first strategic workshop, focused on aligning key priorities with EPBiH’s core team, clarifying potential risks, and discussing major trends in setting up the new operator.

Under the Electricity Law, the distribution system operator must be fully separated from EPBiH’s core operations by August. This deadline, set two years ago, remains one of the most significant challenges for both the company and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Once the process is complete, Bosnia and Herzegovina will fulfill the requirements of the Energy Community and move closer to meeting European Union standards.
