Alerion Clean Power has started commissioning a 51 MW solar power plant in Romania. The company said the project is part of its ongoing expansion of renewable generation in the country. Commissioning is underway at the facility described in the company’s update.
Location and technical setup
The solar plant is located in Racari, within Dâmbovița County. The development covers an area of approximately 85 hectares. It uses bifacial photovoltaic modules installed on single-axis tracking systems.
Once fully operational, the plant is expected to produce around 77 GWh of electricity annually. The output figure is provided by the company as an estimate for full production levels.
Construction timeline and project cost
Sunnerg Renewable Service, part of the Sunnerg Group, built the project. Construction began in April 2024. The total investment for the solar plant is estimated at around €35 million.
Impact on Alerion’s Romanian portfolio
Upon completion of the Racari project, Alerion’s installed solar capacity in Romania will exceed 216 MW. The company framed this as strengthening its position in one of its key international markets.
Alerion also stated that the new facility is expected to generate approximately €5.5 million in annual EBITDA once it reaches full commercial operation.
