Montenegro’s Environmental Protection Agency has ordered Permonte to prepare a full environmental impact assessment for its proposed 120-MW Cevo solar plant near Cetinje. The decision requires the project’s potential impacts to be assessed before it can progress through the environmental approval process. Permonte has two years to prepare and submit the study.
Technical documentation envisages a project area of about 123 hectares, making it one of the larger proposed solar developments in the area. The plant would use 740-W photovoltaic modules. These would be connected to 500-kW inverters.
The assessment will examine the environmental implications of construction and operation. Authorities will consider its findings before deciding whether the project can receive final environmental approval.
