In Bulgaria, power generation rose 12.72% year on year in the first ten months of 2026. Output reached 37.88 TWh. Domestic consumption also increased substantially.
Electricity consumption climbed 8.67% to 34.26 TWh. Bulgaria recorded net electricity exports of around 3.62 TWh.
Output from baseload coal and nuclear plants fell 3.1% to 23.35 TWh. This decline occurred as overall generation increased. The figures indicate that other sources were the main drivers of the rise in total production.
Renewable generation connected to the transmission network increased 29.37% to 4.51 TWh. In the distribution network, renewable output rose 11.61% to 3.93 TWh.
