Romanian distributor Delgaz Grid has completed a €4.7 million upgrade of the 110/20 kV Vicov substation in Suceava county. The project is expected to improve supply reliability for around 18,000 customers and strengthen network access for renewable generators. European funding covered €2.2 million of the investment, with Delgaz Grid financing the balance.
The works included replacing high- and medium-voltage equipment, integrating SCADA and refurbishing the 17-km Vicov-Radauti 110 kV line. The investment is expected to reduce outages, improve voltage quality and lower technical losses, while supporting connections for 20 renewable-energy producers. The project is part of a broader Delgaz programme worth about €530 million, including €375 million in European funding.
