R.Power, a Polish renewable energy developer, has secured €41.6 million in project financing for four solar power plants in Romania. The portfolio targets a combined capacity of approximately 75 MW. The transaction supports further development in a Southeast European renewables market.
The financing package comprises €34.1 million in euros and an additional €7.5 million in local currency. ING Bank and UniCredit Bank arranged the funding jointly, with both lenders participating on equal terms. The capital is intended to cover construction activities across all four photovoltaic projects.
Solar portfolio details and expected commissioning
One of the projects is described as a 55 MW solar facility connected to the high-voltage grid. The remaining photovoltaic developments are part of the same financed portfolio. All four plants are expected to reach operational status by 2027.
The new generation capacity is planned to enter Romania’s power system as the country expands utility-scale solar and hybrid energy infrastructure. The financed projects are positioned within that broader build-out of renewable and hybrid assets.
Role within R.Power’s Romanian pipeline and storage plans
The solar projects are part of R.Power’s wider Romanian pipeline, which totals around 2 GW. That pipeline includes operating assets and projects awarded under Contracts for Difference (CfD) schemes, alongside additional solar, hybrid, and battery storage developments. The portfolio combines secured revenue elements with merchant and development-stage exposure.
Including this transaction, R.Power has secured approximately €250 million in project financing during 2026. Beyond solar development, the company is also exploring battery energy storage integration at selected solar sites. It additionally maintains a separate pipeline of standalone storage projects aimed at capturing flexibility value in Romania’s evolving power market.

R.Power currently manages a renewable energy portfolio of around 10 GW across Poland and Romania. The company is described as one of the larger independent renewable developers active in Central and Southeast Europe.
