June 2026 prices and regional price conditions

The average market-clearing price in June 2026 stood at €93.74/MWh, which was 4.5% higher than in May. The change was linked to broader regional market conditions affecting Southeast European electricity prices.

Southeast European price levels were described as being supported by fuel costs, renewable generation variability, and cross-border supply dynamics. These factors were cited as part of the environment influencing day-ahead pricing.

Peak pricing and role of North Macedonia’s power exchange

The North Macedonian power exchange recorded a peak price of €60.1/MWh during the month. The day-ahead market development was noted for improving price transparency and providing a more structured platform for electricity trading.

North Macedonia’s electricity exchange was established in May 2023. Since then, it has increased its role in the regional power market by supporting greater liquidity, competition, and integration with neighbouring electricity markets.
