The Nordex Group has finalized a contract to deliver wind turbines for the upcoming Jasikovo wind farm, which is set to be constructed in eastern Serbia. This initiative represents a significant advancement in the nation’s efforts to enhance its renewable energy portfolio. The wind turbines will be installed on steel towers that reach a height of 119 meters and are designed to generate up to 7 MW of power each, showcasing cutting-edge, high-efficiency technology.
This project is complemented by a comprehensive long-term maintenance agreement lasting 30 years, with an option for an additional five-year extension. The turbines will feature anti-icing systems, which are crucial for maintaining operational stability during adverse weather conditions, thereby boosting their overall reliability.
The timeline for this development indicates that the installation of the first turbine is expected to commence in April 2027, with electricity production slated to begin in July of the same year. Once operational, the Jasikovo wind farm is anticipated to yield over 270 GWh of electricity annually, significantly bolstering Serbia’s clean energy generation capacity.
Moreover, the Jasikovo project has successfully obtained all necessary construction permits, which encompass both the installation of the turbines and the requisite supporting infrastructure. Future plans include constructing a 33/110 kV substation, a 10 kV facility, and an internal cable network that will extend approximately 16 kilometers across the municipalities of Majdanpek and Žagubica.
