EPCG, the Montenegrin state-owned utility, has launched a tender for the main design of the planned 41.8 MW Krupac solar power plant. The contract is estimated at €125,000. The tender covers the preparation of the main design for the project.

Location and role in EPCG decarbonisation

The photovoltaic facility is planned on the shores of Lake Krupac near Niksic. EPCG said the project forms part of its broader decarbonisation strategy. The utility aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and gradually replace coal-fired generation with renewable energy. The plan is aligned with its sustainable development objectives and cooperation with the European Union.

Planned technical configuration and grid connection

The solar plant will use photovoltaic modules installed on mounting structures and connected into arrays. Electricity generated by the panels will be routed through inverters to low-voltage blocks at the substation. A new 110 kV overhead transmission line is planned to connect the facility to the future 220/110 kV Trubjela substation.

Main design scope for selected contractor

The selected contractor will be responsible for the main design work across multiple disciplines. This includes architectural and civil works, process engineering, equipment, and electrical installations. The assignment will also cover detailed bills of quantities and a comprehensive estimate of construction costs.
