Enery signs physical PPA with Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria for Knizhovnik solar-storage

Enery has signed a long-term physical power purchase agreement with Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria, securing a corporate buyer for electricity from its Knizhovnik solar and battery project. The agreement is set ahead of planned commercial operation on 31 October.

Knizhovnik project capacity and expected output

The Knizhovnik facility is located near Haskovo and combines 122.2 MW of solar capacity with 200.6 MWh of battery storage. Expected annual generation is approximately 200 GWh. The site covers around 196.8 hectares.

The installation uses 169,776 Jinko bifacial modules, trackers from Nextpower, formerly Nextracker, and Sungrow inverters and battery equipment. The battery system is part of the combined solar-plus-storage configuration at the site.

PPA terms and renewable supply profile

The contract will supply Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria with renewable electricity under a fixed solar generation profile. The report did not disclose the contract duration, price, or contracted volume. For Enery, the arrangement provides long-term offtake alongside wholesale market exposure.

For Coca-Cola HBC Bulgaria, the additional locally generated renewable electricity supports efforts to reach net-zero emissions across operations and its wider value chain by 2040. While the battery system adds operational flexibility, the disclosed contract remains tied to a solar generation profile. The value will depend partly on how production, storage and the buyer’s consumption are managed together.

Financing backing Knizhovnik within Enery portfolio

Knizhovnik is part of an Enery portfolio supported by more than €250 million in financing from CSOB. The financing has a 22-year tenor. The funding covers the broader portfolio rather than the Bulgarian project alone.
