Montenegro’s state-owned power utility EPCG has opened procurement for the main design of the planned 41.8 MW Krupac solar power plant near Nikšić. The design contract is valued at an estimated €125,000. The tender was launched on 25 August 2025.
Planned site and role in generation expansion
The photovoltaic facility is planned on the shore of Lake Krupac. It is part of EPCG’s wider effort to expand renewable generation and gradually reduce the role of coal in its portfolio.
Design scope and grid connection concept
Technical plans call for ground-mounted photovoltaic arrays feeding inverter systems, followed by low-voltage blocks at the substation. Grid connection would be provided through a new 110 kV overhead line linked to the future 220/110 kV Trubjela substation.
The design contract covers architectural and civil engineering, process engineering, technical equipment and electrical installations. It also includes detailed bills of quantities and a full cost estimate.
