Austrian renewable energy developer Enery has commissioned the Titu solar power plant in Romania’s Dâmbovița County, placing a 54 MW photovoltaic facility into operation. The company said the project is the first solar plant in Romania that it has developed, built, and will operate independently. Enery described the commissioning as a step that strengthens its position in the regional renewables market.
Project output and generation profile
Enery expects the facility to produce around 80 GWh of electricity annually. The plant is equipped with more than 88,000 photovoltaic modules. These modules are installed on single-axis tracking systems intended to optimize electricity output throughout the day.
Long-term offtake arrangement
Electricity generated from Enery’s Romanian renewable portfolio is supplied under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) to tyre manufacturer Nokian Tyres. Nokian Tyres’ production facility in Oradea is identified as one of the key industrial off-takers. The company said the contract reflects the role of industrial consumers in securing renewable electricity via long-term arrangements across Central and Eastern Europe.
Enery’s regional renewables pipeline
Enery currently operates and is developing renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of around 2 GW across Central and Eastern Europe. The Titu commissioning adds to the developer’s footprint in the regional clean energy sector.
