The Bulgarian state-owned gas supplier, Bulgargaz, has put forward a proposal to raise the wholesale natural gas price for March 2026. The suggested price is approximately 32.85 euros/MWh, reflecting a 1.7% increase from the previously approved February price of 32.3 euros/MWh, which itself had seen a rise of 3.7% from January.
When examining historical pricing trends, it is notable that the proposed price for March 2026 is 36.35% lower than the price set for March 2025, which was recorded at 44.79 euros/MWh. This significant decrease highlights the volatility and fluctuations in the natural gas market over the past year.
The final determination of the natural gas price for March will be made by the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) on the first day of that month. This decision will follow an updated proposal from Bulgargaz, which will take into account current market conditions and will be preceded by a public discussion scheduled for late February.
