The Bistrica hydropower project in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Republika Srpska has launched a €32.3 million tender for transmission infrastructure to connect its three planned plants to the grid. The contract includes construction of the Miljevina substation and power lines linking plants B1, B2a and B3 to the network serving Foča and Sarajevo. Bids must be submitted by 14 December.
Under the EPC+F tender, the contractor will be responsible for arranging financing as well as engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. The works must be completed within two years after building permits are secured. The tender covers the infrastructure needed to connect all three plants.
Project cost and development
The project’s estimated cost has increased from about €103 million to more than €171 million, partly because of additional works and measures related to landslides. China’s AVIC is developing the three cascading plants. Construction began in December 2021.
