Verbund Green Power has announced a significant partnership with Nordex Group aimed at expanding its wind energy portfolio in Europe. This collaboration is expected to facilitate the addition of up to 700 MW of new onshore wind capacity through 2030, marking a strategic move for the company as it seeks to strengthen its renewable energy assets.
The agreement specifies that Nordex will provide up to 105 wind turbines for projects in six key markets: Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, Romania, and Albania. This long-term cooperation framework is designed to remain effective until 2030, allowing Verbund flexibility as it transitions projects from the development phase to execution.
If fully executed, this arrangement could account for approximately 50% of Verbund Green Power’s current wind development pipeline. However, actual turbine deliveries will be contingent upon various factors including project approvals and the establishment of final commercial terms.
Currently, Verbund Green Power operates over 1.2 GW of renewable generation capacity across Europe. The company is actively advancing several projects under construction while also maintaining a diverse pipeline that aims to enhance growth in both wind and other clean energy technologies.
