Gas transmission operator Bulgartransgaz published on its website announcements for the implementation of the binding phase of the procedure for additional capacity, jointly with the Greek and Romanian operators DESFA and Transgaz, as well as with “ICGB” JSC.

The planned capacity addition projects are a key part of the infrastructure needed to realize the Vertical Gas Corridor initiative. With their implementation, the necessary conditions for the transfer of additional quantities of natural gas from the south to the north will be ensured, the conditions for diversification and the security of gas supplies will be improved, and competition in the natural gas market in the region will be strengthened.

The Bulgarian gas transmission operator Bulgartransgaz is among the initiators of the Vertical Gas Corridor initiative, the aim of which is to respond to the growing demand for liquefied natural gas from reliable sources, including the USA and the Caspian region, by expanding the available gas transmission infrastructure.

With the publication of the joint announcements, the binding phase of the procedures for additional capacity has started.

The published documents contain the necessary information about the planned projects, the way to register and participate in the binding phase, as well as the applicable deadlines.

Interested applicants should submit their registration documents by the described requirements and deadlines according to the joint announcements, the individual announcements of Bulgartransgaz EAD and the information in the project proposals.
