A delegation from Hungary’s MOL has commenced a technical due diligence review of Serbia’s Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS), focusing on the company’s operational infrastructure and facilities. This assessment is crucial as it aims to evaluate the current functionality and condition of NIS’ assets.
The MOL team is conducting inspections across various segments of NIS’ operations, including petroleum receiving and dispatch facilities, storage capacities, technical installations, and port infrastructure. The review prioritizes operational aspects, steering clear of strategic or political implications.
Comprising approximately twelve specialists, the delegation is undertaking on-site evaluations at key locations such as the main refinery complex and the natural gas processing facility in Elemir. Notably, officials from the Serbian Government and the Ministry of Mining and Energy are absent from these inspections, which underscores the technical and commercial nature of this visit rather than formal negotiations.
The MOL delegation is expected to remain in Serbia for several additional days to finalize its evaluation of NIS’ operational capacities and infrastructure. This thorough review may influence future decisions regarding the company’s direction and operational strategy.
