Belgian company Virya Energy, in collaboration with Greek renewable energy developer Zephiros, is set to develop a wind project on Evia Island, Greece, with an installed capacity of up to 250 MW. Under the terms of their agreement, Zephiros will provide consultancy and construction services for the project.

The partnership aims to leverage the expertise and resources of both companies, with the expectation that their joint efforts will enhance renewable energy capacity in Greece. They believe that the wind farm on Evia will significantly bolster the region’s energy security while also reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

Virya Energy boasts 500 MW of installed wind capacity across Europe, while Zephiros has an impressive pipeline of 122 renewable projects in development, which are expected to contribute a combined capacity of approximately 2.25 GW throughout Greece.
