Greece approves construction of three wind farms in Peloponnese, adding 96.6 MW of renewable energy

The Greek Energy Regulatory Authority (RAAEY) has granted approval for the construction of three new wind farms in the Peloponnese region, adding a total of 96.6 MW in renewable energy capacity. All three projects will be situated in Agioi Theodoroi, within the municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi in Corinth.

One of the approved projects includes a 42 MW wind farm, which will also feature an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS), initially proposed in the summer of 2023. This project will consist of 10 wind turbines and is expected to produce 140 MWh of electricity annually. The second approved wind farm is a 25.2 MW installation with six turbines, designed to generate an estimated 85 MWh annually, also incorporating battery storage.

Additionally, a third project involving a seven-turbine wind farm with a capacity of 29.4 MW will be constructed nearby, with an estimated annual output of 98 MWh.

All three wind farms will be connected to the national electricity transmission system through an independent high-voltage line.
