95.5 MW storage plan via Nova Power & Gas
Romanian infrastructure group E-Infra is preparing a 95.5 MW battery storage project in Satu Mare county through its Nova Power & Gas subsidiary. The planned facility is identified as IS Roșiori – Stage One. It would be developed at Valea Vinului and connected to the transmission system via the Roșiori substation. An establishment authorisation is expected to remain valid until the end of November 2027.
Site configuration and expected storage duration
The project has not disclosed its final energy capacity. However, the planned configuration is expected to deliver roughly two hours of storage. Nova Power & Gas is also developing a solar project at the same site, linking renewable generation with dispatchable battery capacity . This co-location is described as creating potential for closer integration between production and battery dispatch.
Utility-scale commissioning at Florești in Cluj county
E-Infra has previously commissioned a utility-scale battery installation through Nova Power & Gas. In December 2025, it brought online a 200 MW/400 MWh battery at Florești in Cluj county. The installation includes 45 battery containers, 30 transformer points and a dedicated 110/33 kV substation. It participates in balancing and system-services markets .
Romania’s fast-growing connected storage fleet
Romanian connected battery capacity has been increasing rapidly. At the beginning of August, connected capacity reached 989 MW and 1,975 MWh. This compares with around 1,100 MWh at the end of April. The expansion rate is starting to shift how batteries fit into market operations, moving from niche balancing assets toward infrastructure that can absorb midday renewable surpluses and supply higher-value evening periods.
