Electricity trading on the Croatian power exchange CROPEX reached 1,415,705.5 MWh in July 2026. Total volumes were up 19.1% versus May and 9.3% compared with July 2025. The figures cover activity across day-ahead and intraday segments.
Day-ahead and intraday volumes
The day-ahead market accounted for 1,018,681.1 MWh in July 2026. Intraday trading added a further 397,024.4 MWh. Average daily day-ahead trading volume stood at 32,860.7 MWh.
Price movements across market segments
The average day-ahead baseload price rose by 2.6% month on month to €118.89/MWh. The average Euro-peak price fell sharply by 65.3%, reaching €87/MWh. On the intraday market, the average price was €118.74/MWh, down 1.3% from June.
CROPEX ownership and market coupling timeline
CROPEX began operations on 11 March 2016 in cooperation with Nord Pool. The exchange is jointly owned by Croatian transmission system operator HOPS and electricity market operator HROTE. Intraday trading was introduced in April 2017.
The Croatian day-ahead market was coupled with the Multi-Regional Coupling (MRC) area through the Croatia-Slovenia border on 19 June 2018.
