The Bosnian state-owned power utility, EPBiH, has demonstrated a notable improvement in its financial performance for the year 2025. The company reported a net loss of €25.8 million, which marks a decrease from the €31 million loss experienced in 2024. This reduction in losses can be attributed to a significant increase in revenues, despite ongoing challenges posed by high operational costs.
In 2025, EPBiH achieved total revenue of €762 million, reflecting a robust growth rate of 16.4% compared to the previous year. This revenue surge indicates a positive trend in the company’s market performance and operational effectiveness.
However, the rise in income was accompanied by an increase in operating costs. Total operating expenses for the year rose by 15.2%, reaching €787.5 million. While this increase is significant, it was outpaced by revenue growth, suggesting that EPBiH is managing its cost structure effectively amidst a challenging economic environment.
The financial results underscore the utility’s ongoing efforts to stabilize its operations and enhance its market position within the region’s energy sector. As EPBiH navigates these complexities, the focus will likely remain on balancing revenue growth with cost management to achieve greater financial sustainability in future periods.
