The southern Serbian city of Vranje has approved the detailed regulation plan for the 100-MW Poljanica wind farm. The approval enables the project to proceed to further technical preparation and permitting steps. It also provides the development with the required spatial framework.
Windflow West develops Poljanica as part of Grot and Oblik
Windflow West is developing the Poljanica project as the second phase of the broader Grot and Oblik wind complex. The city’s support dates to a business and technical cooperation agreement signed in November 2022. Under that agreement, Vranje will provide logistical assistance during preparation of planning and technical documentation.
Revenue share and next permitting steps
The municipality will receive revenue once the plant starts operating. Windflow West is required to pay an amount equal to 1% of gross electricity sales. Approval of the regulation plan does not constitute construction approval, and additional stages remain.
The project must still move through technical design, environmental procedures, grid connection, and financing. Its schedule will depend on whether the developer can secure network access and complete remaining permits. The process is taking place amid an increasingly congested project pipeline in southern Serbia.
