The energy landscape in southeastern Europe is witnessing a significant shift as a commercial agreement facilitates the flow of US LNG through Greece. The Atlantic SEE LNG Trade consortium, primarily controlled by the Aktor Group with a 60% stake, and DEPA Trade, which holds the remaining 40%, has taken a significant step by signing its inaugural LNG sales contract with Naftogaz Group of Ukraine. This arrangement includes BP as the supplier of US LNG, underscoring the collaborative efforts to bolster energy supplies in the region.
The first shipment of LNG is slated to arrive at the Revythoussa LNG terminal in March. Following its arrival, the gas will be transported to Ukraine within weeks via Route 1.
