MET Group has initiated the construction of an 80 MW solar power plant in Rascaeti, located in Dambovita county, Romania. This project is one of four renewable energy initiatives the company is working on in Romania, with three of them already in the ready-to-build phase.

The company’s renewable energy portfolio in Romania now includes over 260 MW of solar capacity, along with 10 MW of co-located energy storage solutions. The combined area of these four solar projects will span 400 hectares across the counties of Arad, Dambovita and Bihor.

In addition, Austrian solar energy developer Kraftfeld has confirmed the sale of an 80 MW solar project in Romania to MET Group. While the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, Kraftfeld noted that the project was delivered in a ready-to-build state, with an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract already in place. MET Group, through its Green Assets Division, focuses on investing in solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems across Europe, with Romania being one of its key markets.
