According to data published by the Hungarian electricity transmission system operator MAVIR, the total electricity generation of solar power plants in Hungary exceeded 1,836 MW on 13 July.

On 13 July, large-scale solar power plants provided around 37 % of Hungary’s total electricity consumption.

The Ministry of Technology and Industry said that this is of a particular importance within the current energy crisis, as alternative energy sources greatly contribute to ensuring the country’s energy supply.
