In a significant move for the Croatian energy market, HROTE, ENNA Next, and INA have announced the upcoming auction of Guarantees of Origin (GOs) scheduled for January 28, 2026. This initiative aims to bolster the participation of renewable energy sources in the national grid by offering GOs from wind, solar, and biogas facilities.
HROTE plans to auction a total of 208,744 GOs derived from electricity produced under the incentive system on CROPEX’s IT trading platform. This includes GOs from wind power plants specifically for electricity generated in the fourth quarter of 2025. Such offerings are crucial as they provide a framework for tracking renewable energy production and enhancing transparency in the market.
ENNA Next will also contribute to this auction with 41,337 GOs. These will encompass guarantees from wind, solar, and biogas power plants, all for electricity produced in Q4 2025. The diverse range of sources represented by ENNA Next underscores the growing importance of mixed renewable generation in Croatia’s energy landscape.
INA will participate by offering 2,019 GOs for electricity produced outside the incentive system on CROPEX. This includes GOs from solar power plants for electricity generated between April and November 2025. The inclusion of non-incentive system production highlights a broader strategy to integrate various renewable sources into the market.
The upcoming auctions represent a strategic opportunity for market participants to acquire renewable energy certificates.
