Vienna-based renewable energy group Enery has started construction of a hybrid solar and battery facility in Slovenia at the Jezerce project near Divača. The development combines 7.68 MW of photovoltaic capacity with 12 MWh of electricity storage. Construction is being carried out by Enery SLO, with commercial operation scheduled for May 2027.
Site, land use and local offtake terms
The Jezerce project is located within the Gabrk motorway interchange and covers approximately 8.4 hectares of land already affected by major transport infrastructure. The siting approach prioritises previously developed or infrastructure-adjacent land to reduce reliance on undeveloped greenfield locations. The project is also structured to provide a direct benefit to the local community.
Under the project’s commercial arrangements, Divača municipality will be entitled to purchase 10% of the electricity generated at a fixed price of €88/MWh throughout the plant’s operating life. The agreement establishes a long-term local electricity supply arrangement, while the wider electricity sales structure has not been disclosed.
Grid connection design and commissioning timeline
Although Jezerce will be built on one site, it will operate as six electrically separate units due to technical requirements linked to its grid connection. The configuration reflects how network connection conditions influence renewable project engineering. Grid requirements can affect electrical design, control systems, metering arrangements and the costs associated with integrating generation and storage into the distribution or transmission network.
The project was initially presented in early 2023. Enery obtained its final construction permit in November 2025, after which further technical adjustments were completed before construction began. The longer development timeline shows how permitting, grid requirements and project design can determine when renewable investment reaches construction even for comparatively modest project sizes.
Enery portfolio context across Central and Eastern Europe
Enery Group develops and operates renewable generation and battery storage across Central and Eastern Europe. The company reports approximately 566 MW in operation across ten markets, with another 213 MW under construction. For Slovenia, Jezerce adds solar generation and storage while establishing a long-term electricity purchasing arrangement with a municipality.
The investment provides an example of combining generation, storage and tailored offtake arrangements within one development. Its eventual performance will depend on achieving the planned commissioning date and demonstrating that contracted municipal sales alongside wider market revenues support the project’s financial assumptions.
