Electricity distributor CEZ Distribution Bulgaria operates the electricity network in the Sofia region and parts of western and northern Bulgaria.

CEZ Distribution Bulgaria, a subsidiary of Czech energy company CEZ, said that it will invest some 3.6 million euros in upgrades and modernization of electricity network in the capital Sofia.

The statement from the company said that despite the delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic, it intends to carry out all planned investments in Sofia in 2020.

The largest project this year is the reconstruction of a 110 kV transmission line and its adjacent substations, worth some 2.15 million euros. Some 700,000 euros have already been invested in replacing the power transformer at Sredets substation.
