Vienna Energy Forta Naturala, a renewable energy firm associated with Austria’s Wien Energie Group, is advancing a significant solar energy initiative in central Romania. The company has secured an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreement valued at approximately €25 million for the development of a 45 MW solar power plant located in the commune of Sancel, within Alba County.
The project is anticipated to be financed through European Union sources, as it has been submitted under the EU’s Modernization Fund. Legal advisor Vlasceanu & Partners has facilitated the transaction, indicating the project’s alignment with EU funding mechanisms aimed at enhancing renewable energy infrastructure.
This solar installation is part of a broader strategy by Vienna Energy Forta Naturala to expand its renewable asset portfolio in Romania. The company plans not only to focus on solar generation but also to incorporate battery energy storage systems, which are essential for enhancing grid flexibility and reliability.
