Renewables developer Hive Energy has obtained permits to connect to the networkof four solar parks in Serbia that will add a total power generation capacity of 216.5 MW.
The company expects to continue with urbanism planning procedures in the next few months.
The photovoltaic projects come with integrated battery energy storage systems that represent 10% of the overall PV capacity. The 50-MW Pirot and 40-MW Prokuplje schemes are undergoing urbanization planning and are planned to become shovel-ready between the last quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025. Veliko Gradiste I and II, with capacities of 71.5 MW and 55 MW, respectively, should receive the ready-to-build status a few months later.
The four projects are part of a 490-MW Serbian portfolio for which Hive Energy secured land last year. The company said it expects to sign more grid-connection contracts this month. Additional applications are prepared for seven schemes totalling 500 MW.
