The Serbian Government has extended its temporary restrictions on the export of crude oil and petroleum products, prolonging the measure until 31 July. The decision was adopted at the latest government session and replaces the previous deadline of 2 July. Export controls remain in place for an additional month.
Authorities said the extension is linked to ongoing uncertainty in global energy markets and the need to safeguard domestic fuel availability. They cited disruptions in international oil supply chains and market volatility as risks that could affect the stability of petroleum product supplies.
Rationale for maintaining export controls
The Government stated that the restrictions are intended to secure adequate fuel stocks for the domestic market. It also aims to reduce the risk of shortages affecting households, industry, and transport. The measure is applied during a period marked by elevated price levels and supply fluctuations.
Officials said maintaining the export limitations is meant to reinforce energy security and stabilize internal supply conditions. The controls are expected to remain until international market dynamics become more predictable.
