In the second week of May (May 8 – 14), European electricity prices increased due to the lower production of wind and solar energy and increased consumption.
In Southeast Europe, spot prices rose in all markets. Greece recorded the highest increase in the weekly electricity price of 12%, followed by Serbia, with an 8% increase compared to the previous week.
Spot electricity prices ranged between 92 and 123 euros per MWh in the SEE region, with the lowest price recorded in Turkey – 91.7 euros per MWh, followed by Croatia with 98.4 euros per MWh.
The Greek market was the most expensive in Europe in the second week of May, at 122.9 euros per MWh, followed by Italy at 119.4 euros per MWh.
