Romania’s OPCOM day-ahead power price drops to €120.14/MWh in July

The average day-ahead electricity price on Romania’s OPCOM power exchange fell to €120.14/MWh in July 2026. The figure was down 2.32% from June’s average of €122.99/MWh. It also remained 16.07% higher than in July 2025.

Day-ahead volumes and transaction values

Day-ahead trading volume reached 1.179 million MWh in July. This represented a 32.76% increase compared with June, while also showing a 9.48% decline versus the same month last year. Average hourly trading volume stood at 1,585.2 MWh.

The total value of day-ahead market transactions amounted to €143.3 million in July. That was up 21.76% from €117.7 million in June and 5.88% higher than €135.4 million a year earlier. The report also stated that day-ahead trading accounted for 30.34% of forecast net electricity consumption in July 2025.

Intraday market price and volume movements

On the intraday market, trading volume totaled 138,685.7 MWh. The volume increased 18.14% from June but fell 27.3% year on year. Average intraday pricing was reported at €102.57/MWh.

The average intraday price was down 29.2% from the previous month while remaining 2.75% higher than in July 2025.
