North Macedonia’s OKTA recorded net profit of €34.1 million in January-September 2026, compared with €7.3 million in the same period of 2025. The result was about 4.7 times higher year on year, while sales revenue increased 105% to €953 million.

Expenses rose 101% to approximately €891 million as turnover expanded sharply. Revenue growth alone does not indicate how much resulted from higher fuel volumes, price changes or a different sales mix. Sustaining profitability will depend on OKTA’s management of market pressures alongside its expanded turnover.

Market presence

Owned by Greek energy group Hellenic Petroleum, OKTA is a major supplier in North Macedonia’s petroleum products market and has a significant regional commercial presence. Historical figures indicate that it met around 70% of North Macedonia’s fuel needs in 2023, while its estimated share of the Kosovo market was 36% in 2022. Neither figure represents a current-year market-share estimate.

Refinery and regional logistics

OKTA owns the refinery complex in Skopje, with stated installed capacity of 2.5 million tonnes. Its role in fuel supply connects the company with regional petroleum logistics, import pricing and wholesale distribution. Balkan oil-product markets are exposed to fluctuations in international product prices, freight costs and supply routes, as well as working-capital requirements.
