The Regulatory Commission for Energy, Water and Municipal Waste Management Services (KRRE) has been actively working on a comprehensive set of measures aimed at strengthening consumer protection. These initiatives include monthly meter readings and special inspections of measuring devices, selected randomly from consumers who have submitted complaints to KRRE.

According to the Commission, these mechanisms are part of a coordinated effort with the Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Mineral Resources to build trust and address concerns raised by segments of the public who question the accuracy and reliability of the meters.

“KRRE remains committed to openness and transparency, as it has been so far. We welcome suggestions and input from both citizens and experts, whether they are formally or informally organized,” the Commission stated in a response to MIA.

The proposed measures will come into effect following the conclusion of a broad expert consultation phase. This phase includes cooperation with professional associations such as Zemak and Makosigre, as well as other stakeholders. Once the process is finalized, KRRE will provide the public with detailed information regarding the adopted decisions.
