Qair Montenegro has received approval from the Environmental Protection Agency to move forward with the construction of a 46.5 MW solar power plant in the Rudine neighborhood of Niksic. The project will involve the installation of 79,900 solar panels across 202,777 square meters. Once operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 73 GWh of electricity annually, though the final output will be confirmed during the main project phase.

The Environmental Protection Agency confirmed that the environmental impact assessment for the Rudine solar power plant was conducted in line with the Law on Environmental Impact Assessment. The assessment includes measures to prevent, reduce, or eliminate adverse environmental effects. Additionally, the approval mandates that Qair Montenegro adhere to these environmental protection measures throughout construction, operation, and potential accidents, as well as implement ongoing monitoring of the project’s environmental impact.

The request for approval was submitted in October 2024, with urban-technical conditions provided in September 2023.
