Montenegro’s only coal-fired power plant, TPP Pljevlja, is scheduled to cease operations on April 15 for a month-long maintenance and upgrade initiative. This planned downtime is part of the efforts by Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG), the state-owned utility, to enhance the facility’s operational efficiency and environmental performance.
The maintenance period will involve comprehensive technical work and system enhancements aimed at completing the final phase of the plant’s environmental refurbishment. Recent successful testing of key components, including the boiler and newly integrated systems, has paved the way for this critical shutdown, which will allow for necessary adjustments and fine-tuning.
During this maintenance window, EPCG will address vital aspects of the plant’s infrastructure. Focus areas include mechanical systems, coal and water preparation units, as well as electrical equipment. Furthermore, the initiative will enhance emission control systems, contributing to improved reliability in operations.
<pCoordination with the coalmine operator has been established to ensure effective stock management during this outage. This strategic planning aims to maintain a consistent supply chain and mitigate any potential disruptions during the maintenance period.
