Metlen Energy & Metals has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement to supply Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon with electricity from a new 12 MW solar project in Greece. The bilateral contract covers the delivery of power from the planned photovoltaic facility.
Solar project location and expected generation
The photovoltaic plant is being developed at Mikro Perivolaki near Velestino in Magnesia. The project is expected to generate around 16.5 GWh annually. Under the agreement, the entire output will be supplied to Coca-Cola Tria Epsilon.
Role in Coca-Cola HBC net-zero planning
The contract provides the beverage producer with another long-term renewable electricity source. It supports progress toward the wider Coca-Cola HBC group’s net-zero target for 2040. The agreement is structured as a bilateral supply arrangement tied to the new solar generation.
Metlen corporate renewable portfolio and market context
For Metlen, the deal adds to a portfolio of corporate renewable supply contracts. The company operates around 500 MW of renewable capacity in Greece, while its global portfolio of completed and ongoing projects totals about 11.4 GW. The agreement aligns with growth in corporate PPAs in Greece involving industrial and commercial consumers seeking longer-term power-cost visibility.
Renewable developers also use contracted revenues to support financing and reduce exposure to merchant-market conditions. In this case, the contracted supply is linked to the new solar project at Mikro Perivolaki near Velestino in Magnesia.
