Construction progress on 96 MW wind project
Helleniq Energy is advancing a new 96 MW wind farm in Galați County, where construction is already underway. The project is being developed by Helleniq Renewables. Work has reached a key phase, with 8 out of 15 turbine foundations completed. The wind farm is set to use turbines supplied by Vestas and is expected to be fully operational in 2027.
First Romanian solar assets commissioned in 2026
The wind investment forms part of a wider plan to scale up renewable capacity in Romania. Earlier in 2026, the company commissioned its first operational assets in the country. Two solar power plants were brought online in Teleorman and Olt counties, with a combined capacity of 58 MW. These steps expand the company’s operating footprint alongside its ongoing construction activity.
Additional projects under development and portfolio expansion
Beyond the wind farm and the commissioned solar plants, further renewable projects totaling 153 MW are under development. These projects are expected to reach commercial operation during 2026. Romania has also become a key expansion market for Helleniq Energy, with its local development portfolio now exceeding 850 MW. The pipeline includes a mix of wind, solar, and energy storage projects.
