During the week of April 28, solar photovoltaic energy production saw significant increases in Germany and France, rising by 30% and 22%, respectively. Italy also saw a more modest increase of 6.5%. These markets continued their upward trend for the second consecutive week. However, in Spain and Portugal, production dropped considerably. In Spain, the decline was 40%, while in Portugal, it fell by 31%. These decreases were influenced by a blackout that affected these markets on Monday, April 28, disrupting both production and demand.

Throughout the week, several European markets set all-time records for solar photovoltaic energy production. On April 28, Germany achieved its highest solar photovoltaic energy production for the month of April, with 397 GWh. On April 30, France set its historical record for production using this technology, with 135 GWh, and Italy also reached its all-time maximum on the same day, with a production of 150 GWh.

For the week of May 5, according to solar energy forecasts by AleaSoft Energy Forecasting, Spain is expected to increase its solar photovoltaic energy production, while Germany and Italy will see decreases. During the week of April 28, wind energy production increased across major European markets, reversing the downward trend from the previous week. In the Iberian Peninsula, despite the impact of the April 28 blackout, both Spain and Portugal ended the week with increases of 12% and 47%, respectively. Germany, Italy, and France also saw increases in production, with rises of 18%, 17%, and 10%, respectively.
