Montenegrin state-owned utility EPCG has launched a third tender for the design and construction of the Otilovići small hydropower plant. The project value is unchanged from previous tender attempts at €7 million excluding VAT, or €8.47 million including VAT. The contract scope includes preparation of the main design, civil works, delivery and installation of electromechanical equipment, as well as testing and commissioning.
Contract scope and design timeline
The main design must be completed within six months, excluding the review period. A further six months is allocated for preparation of the environmental impact assessment, excluding the time required for approval by the Environmental Protection Agency. EPCG will formally hand over the project to the selected contractor seven days after the building permit is issued.
Construction schedule and expected output
Construction is expected to take between 12 and 20 months. Interested companies must submit their offers by 20 October. The planned small hydropower plant is expected to have an installed capacity of approximately 2.6 MW and generate around 11 GWh of electricity annually.
