In a significant move towards enhancing its renewable energy portfolio, the state-owned electricity utility, EPBiH, has announced the launch of a tender aimed at installing rooftop solar systems across its facilities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This initiative marks the beginning of a new investment cycle in renewable energy infrastructure, with the initial phase estimated to cost around €750,000, excluding VAT.
The tender encompasses the deployment of photovoltaic systems on various company-owned buildings throughout the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bidders interested in participating have until May 15 to submit their proposals, after which the selection process will commence.
The planned solar installations will vary in size, with capacities ranging from 25 kW to 240 kW depending on the specific site. The contractor selection will be based on the lowest offered price, and an electronic auction stage will be included in the procurement process. Notably, this project is structured as a single consolidated package, avoiding division into separate lots.
According to the tender documentation, installations are set to occur at multiple operational units, including sites in Bihać, Jablanica, Mostar, Zenica, Sarajevo, Tuzla, Travnik, and Kakanj. These efforts are aligned with EPBiH’s broader strategy to enhance energy efficiency and expand its renewable generation capacity.
This project is part of EPBiH’s larger initiative to modernize its infrastructure while bolstering internal power production from clean energy sources. Such developments are crucial for the gradual decarbonization of operations within the utility sector.
