On September 27, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, and Elmedin Konaković, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Foreign Minister, convened during the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Their discussions centered on enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation between their nations, particularly in light of Azerbaijan’s upcoming presidency of the COP29 climate conference.

The ministers identified opportunities to expand collaboration across various sectors, including political, economic, energy, science and education, culture, and sports. They emphasized the potential for cooperation in tourism, agriculture, industry, high technologies, mutual investments, and transport.

Bayramov highlighted the favorable opportunities for partnership arising from COP29, scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan later this year. He also updated Konaković on the post-conflict situation in the region, the restoration efforts in liberated territories, and the ongoing normalization process with Armenia. The meeting concluded with a discussion on new avenues for cooperation and other mutual interests.
