Thermal power plant Brestanica announced that it has successfully synchronized its new gas-fired unit 7 to the electricity network on 28 January.  Gas-fired unit 7, together with unit 6 launched in 2018, is replacing the old gas units 1-3 commissioned in 1974. TPP Brestanica is very important for Slovenian energy system because it provides tertiary reserve. The new unit is now in trial operation and it is expected that it will obtain operational permit in March.
