The Municipality of Aleksinac has initiated a public review process for the planning documentation of a new wind energy project located in the Mozgovo area. This development, spearheaded by WPP Forestwind, aims to establish a wind farm with an installed capacity of 150 MW, comprising 22 wind turbines.
This latest proposal marks a significant revision from earlier plans submitted last year. The project’s capacity has been decreased by 75 MW, and the number of turbines has been nearly halved from 40 to 22 units. Such adjustments reflect a strategic response to regulatory and environmental considerations that have become increasingly pertinent in the region.
The site designated for the wind farm spans approximately 2,015 hectares, encompassing parts of the cadastral zones of Mozgovo and Bovan. This expansive area is indicative of the project’s potential scale within Serbia’s growing renewable energy sector.
As Serbia continues to navigate its energy transition, developments like the Mozgovo wind farm underscore the ongoing efforts to enhance renewable energy production while balancing environmental impacts and community input.
